I fancied some real deep-bass reggae But, unfortunately I can't get my sound system loud enough to feel the gut-vibrating-bass I have in mind (unless I set up a big PA in the house and then it'd blow out the windows). Think of being slapped on the belly to every bass note, with a jiggle of your loose bits. Imagine being physically punished by the bass line...

Bloody great, although I see what you mean about the lack of a proper 'filling-loosening' bass.
I haven't heard any Burning Spear for years, and had forgotten all about them.
Another favourite reggae outfit of mine was Steel Pulse - I saw them live once at a RAR gig in Moss Side Manchester, where they did most of their 'Handsworth Revolution' album. They were superb.
Dave, that's the style - I guess people love it or hate it.
Nobbly, I remember Steel Pulse but never saw them live. Did see the very early Aswad though, before they started playing pap.
