Billy Powell, keyboard player with rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, has died of a heart attack at the age of 56.
Powell, who survived the plane crash which decimated the band in 1977, was described by Howard Kramer, curatorial director of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as "a phenomenal piano player. The band may be able to get another piano player, but they will never replace Billy Powell".
