I was thinking about duncanr's post involving
"an unusual defence to the charge of downloading child pornography"Whilst I can see no mitigating circumstances for that guy, this song comes to mind.
Jethro Tull - Aqualung (Live) [7:38]
When I was a youngster my parents bought me a pair of braces to hold up my new trousers. Of course these were 'Trousers to grow into' and without such support I would have been running around bare arsed. The braces were blue and had pictures of planets and rockets and, in the box, was a genuine ticket to the Moon.
I know, because it said so.
Somewhere in a landfill site, many many years ago...

interesting.. that bit of the song always bothered me. I hate to think of Ian Anderson as a pedophile!
I agree df, the first few lines are dark and creepy, but overall it adds to the pathos we feel (I feel) for the character in the song. A life lost, or taken away, or never had.
I never intended to impugne the character of IA.
You didn't .. it's clear that you're a fan, I recall the other song you posted.. I'm a fan as well.
It's just that thinking about the song after reading Duncan's post had me see the words from another perspective... so I thought about it differently. I find that listening to music with some age and distance means that i hear the lyrics from a new place sometimes...
