A thought for a Sunday

"People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within".

My approach to patients was heavily influenced by her book "On death and dying" which she wrote in 1969 and I read in 1973/4 as a baby medical student. She wrote so readably on such a hard subject; gifted and wise.

Thanks for the memory Andy!

I've never read "death and dying" but I'm well aware of her "five stages model". It's a great insight into the troublesome areas of life.
