"In our more diverse and secular society, the place of religion has come to be a matter of lively discussion. It is rightly acknowledged that people of faith have no monopoly of virtue and that the wellbeing and prosperity of the nation depend on the contribution of individuals and groups of all faiths and none."
Queen Elizabeth II (b. 1926)

wise old bird
Good old Madge, and she was addressing the CofE General Synod!
I wonder if the stuffy old gits will take any notice of the management?
Probably not.
It's weird isn't it? All the fuss over the role of women in the church, and it's headed up by one. It just goes to show how out of touch with reality the buggers are.
I had the same thought Nobbly. They were "out of touch with reality" a couple o'thousand years ago and have not learned anything since.
You have to smile, don't you....
They argue that 'Jesus didn't have women disciples'.
The thing is, (assuming that he existed) he didn't have a bunch of middle class white blokes as disciples either.
I thought Jesus and de boys were all homosexual Jews.
